Fon's Florida Ordeal!

We completed our 2007 winter FL RV golf tour and it was a nearly disaster!  We did everything we wanted to do... namely... played a lot of golf, visited everyone we wanted to see and then stopped in Pensacola at 3 p.m. on 2/20 for a round of golf & maybe another few days on our way out of FL. While in Pensacola we got 5 holes of golf at Champions Golf Club in before Fon had a heart attack midway down the 6th fairway at 4 p.m., it turned into cardiac arrest during the procedure at 6:00 p.m. in the hospital, it took two different heart stimulation methods to bring her back & she had the blocked right artery opened with angioplasty and a stent installed by 7:00 p.m. on the 20th, it was a 2 1/2 day ordeal in the Critical Care Unit. The most intense days in our many years together... and a very, very close call!  We got back home at 9 a.m. on 2/24... a week early!  Got word on 3/2 that Fon's exit ECHO indicated a normal heart

On March Fon met with her new cardiologist in SA for a check-up.  He scheduled another ECHO and a 2 -3 hour stress/scan test for April to confirm her status... hopefully what both doctors felt... minimal to no damage!  Final tests were completed - A-okay with no heart damage.  In July  she had recovered fully & was released to her Salado doctor... a very, very knowledgeable family doctor with many years in the business.  She remains on the initial drug regimen.

Absolutely amazing lady and great FL health care! We are very lucky!

Note:  The hospital gave us an uninsured discount of 25% and 72 month zero interest payment terms & the doctor issued a very reasonable final bill and gave us 36 month zero interest terms.
